The Porsche Boxster. A welcome guest in the Selected Classics collection. First introduced by Porsche in 1996 as the 986. Initially disparaged by the 911 following in particular. Not a real Porsche, too little power, the wrong look, and so on. Since then, the Porsche Boxster has been highly appreciated, especially for its unrivalled roadholding and handling. To this day, the price-pleasure ratio is very high within the brand and even beyond. Porsche is unique in further developing their sports car programme. In particular, the 981 with its six-cylinder engine is a hit both optically and technically. The very stable value of this type underlines this once again. We now have another fantastic example in our collection.
Naturally, this Boxster S comes with a conclusive and demonstrable maintenance history, in this case carried out exclusively at the Porsche dealer. Driving this Boxster, preferably with the hood open, is a lasting feast. The sound of the atmospheric 6-cylinder boxer engine, the tight gear changes of the 7-speed PDK gearbox, which can be operated with the aluminium shift paddles behind the sports steering wheel if desired, the 320 hp on only 1425 kg weight, the sharp and sensitive steering, the balance of the suspension ánd the fantastic brakes. Truly an incomparable and great driving experience. Then the looks. The deep gloss black metallic paint, in combination with the matt black body accents, the 19-inch silver Boxster S wheels, the black full leather interior (including centre console, dashboard and door panels) and last but not least the high-gloss aluminium inlay parts, also in the steering wheel. Breathtaking and timelessly beautiful. Tastes differ but we think this is the most beautiful Boxster series to date. Also an excellent investment. This Boxster series is steadily developing as one of the most value-efficient Porsches today, especially now that the latest versions (718) feature four-cylinders in the base versions.
