Description
After more than 30 years, BMW's M division is now a household name in the sports car world. The three series a highly sought-after M version. Once started with the E30 M3 as a homologation special (as a four cylinder!) for the DTM racing competition in Germany and now, in the right condition and execution, has become almost priceless. This E36 is the second generation and best known for its famous inline six-cylinder with 286hp and 6 separate inlets (throttle valves) giving the car an unchangeable engine sound and unparalleled throttle response. This first-generation E36 still features the original 3-litre engine which BMW connoisseurs praise as one of the best engines ever built by BMW. Combined with the M suspension technology, the close ratio 5-speed gearbox and the sharp and sensitive steering, this BMW is a joy to drive for the sporty enthusiast. This generation M3, unlike the current one, is optically still of the modest and elegant kind and therefore of a timeless beauty. The originally Italian car barely saw water, let alone salt, for much of its life. In 2017, the car was brought to the Netherlands by a collector and in 2021 it was again, very professionally (by BMW), painted in its original, beautiful Avus Blue metallic by the last owner (documented with photos). The car also has a comprehensive and verifiable service history.
This M3 has been serviced in Italy by BMW dealer Capella Antonia and has had its last two service intervals at Performance Shop in Geel Belgium (BMW M specialist). At 137,000 kilometres in 27 years, this beautiful BMW is therefore in excellent condition. It then steers, pulls, brakes, clutches and shifts wonderfully. After driving just a few metres, you immediately know what makes these first generations of M3s so special. For that time, the car comes with a laundry list of options.
