Description
The Audi TT. Three generations. Truly special and, above all, instantly recognisable roadsters. Following the iconic first version, Audi continued to develop the model with great care. Audi, too, wanted to get in on the action following the resurgence of this type of car in the 1980s. And not without success. The first, second and third generations have since become highly sought-after roadsters and coupés.
We now have a second-generation model in our collection, which has collector’s status. We see all sorts of cars pass through here, but we were particularly impressed by this TT roadster. Sold three years ago with 15,000 km on the clock, it has now been traded in three years later with 30,000 kilometres. After a further 15,000 kilometres, the car is still in exceptional condition. The previous owner took great care of it and has consistently maintained its impeccable service history. Isn’t that remarkable? It was taken to the Audi dealer for a service and check-up at least every two years. As a result, the service book is fully stamped. Fortunately, the car has never been left standing for too long and has been driven a decent distance regularly every year. We don’t know if there’s a second example in this condition. ‘Mint condition’ is an understatement in this case.
It is also a fully equipped version, featuring all the key options such as: leather upholstery, climate control, cruise control, xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, Audi Radio Concert with Bose upgrade, electrically operated soft top, electrically operated windscreen, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and so on. The black metallic paintwork gleams like new and the burgundy red leather upholstery is immaculate. (It appears much redder in the photos than in real life.) Everything on the car is in mint condition with virtually no signs of wear. The underbody is also in exceptionally good condition. This TT drives just as well as it looks. The engine is very lively and is one of the last units produced before the oil consumption issue with the TSI engines arose. The gearbox shifts very smoothly. Combined with the sporty yet comfortable chassis and the precise, direct steering, it’s a joy to drive. Unlike many of the competition’s four-cylinder engines, this TSI engine has a pleasant, refined, sporty sound with an infectious rumble under load and at higher revs.
It may well be that a collector with a passion for the brand will add this Audi to their collection. But actually, we hope the car will be used regularly. It drives so beautifully that it would be a shame not to make the most of it. A car in this condition comes along only very rarely, if at all. Seize this opportunity now and buy this fantastic Audi TT roadster in almost as-new condition.
